What can I say, except that WaterFest 2003 was even more interesting than the previous
year in many ways. The vendor booths were superb. FK had beautiful free literature
(printed in German, oddly enough) showcasing their incredible product line. Very cool.
And don't even get me started on the FK 1.8T A2 Golf they had beside their tent (see
the first three pictures below). Wow. Side exit exhaust and everything. That FK
Golf and the orange Golf from Minnesota were my favorite A2s at the show. The lack
of really nice Rabbits (such as the Bronze Rabbit
with mega-wheelarches from the 2002 show) made me a little sad, but there were still
some nice A1s in general - that bone stock 1980 Rabbit METICULOUSLY restored to near
showroom condition, the green A1 Jetta from NY (appeared in 2002, and was featured
in Performance VW magazine), and a couple of MK1 Sciroccos that I nearly died over.
Nothing's nicer than a rust-free A1. The drags were great this year, and I
witnessed a couple of 10 second VWs. Dang.
